What is our 'SIX Collection'

If you’re new to Bear Burners, you might be wondering what exactly is our Six Collection and what makes it so special? In this blog, we’re diving into the story behind Six; how it began, what it stands for, and a look into our current chapter.

How It All Began

Six was born in March 2025, around the same time we moved into our new home. The idea was simple but exciting: to create a core collection that changes every so often, something that would stand apart from our standard collections.

We wanted Six to be more than a range of new scents, we wanted it to be a story told through six scents, each one capturing a moment, a mood, or a feeling within a shared theme.

At first, the plan was to launch a new Six collection every six weeks. But as time went on, something lovely happened... some of these collections became so loved, we just couldn’t bear to say goodbye too soon. We have yet to find a flow of when to release our concepts, right now we drop new Six stories when it feels right... when the season, the story, and our community are all ready for the next one.

More Than Scents

Our main goal with Six is simple: to capture emotion through fragrance. Each collection isn’t just about releasing seasonal scents, it’s about building a world, one that you can see, smell, and feel.

For instance in our Postcards from Amalfi collection, that was available over the summer, had a scent called Limonata Lush (Sparkling limoncello, sugared lemon, and fizzy citrus) which was a huge hit of the summer and a very popular scent type across many stores.

Rather than simply launching a citrus fragrance, we built a world around it... complete with scenes, stories, and a sense of place. That’s what Six is all about.

The Evolution of our Six Collection

So far, we’ve brought four ‘Six’ collections to life each one a new story, a new chapter in our creative journey.

Our first was the Disney-inspired 'Fairest of Them All ' a whimsical nod to magic, nostalgia, and childhood wonder. Then came 'Postcards from Amalfi', a sun-soaked escape to the Italian coast filled with sparkling citrus and warm, golden memories.

Next, we wandered into the woods with 'The Autumn Journal: A Season Through a Bear’s Eyes' a reflective, poetic series capturing autumn’s quiet beauty through our Bear’s perspective.

And now, we arrive at our fourth and current chapter... Fables of the Fir.

Fables of the Fir

Fables of the Fir is a storybook come to life... six enchanting tales told through scent, hidden within a magical Christmas book found in a snowy village. Each candle is a chapter in that story, each flame revealing a little more of its world.

This collection began, as all our Six stories do, with a concept. For this one, we played with three very different ideas but this one, with its sense of winter wonder and storybook charm, captured our hearts completely. (The runner-up, Santa’s To-Do List, was far too fun to let go of. So it’s made a cheeky appearance as a Festive Friday drop instead, and in a limited run of just a dozen!)

Once we had the concept, we moved on to our favourite part - the storytelling. Each scent needed a name, a narrative, and a purpose within the collection. We wanted to create something luxurious and timeless, while still capturing that comforting Bear Burners warmth.

This also gave us room to weave in some of our most beloved seasonal scent profiles; gingerbread, sugared spices, and festive notes that feel like a winter’s evening by candlelight.

Chapter I – Letters to the North

A scent of wishes sealed in snow.

A child’s hopeful letter drifts into the starlit sky - inked with dreams, bound for the North. The air is crisp and still, carrying whispers of pine and citrus through snowy woods. Beneath the frost lies warmth: amber and musk wrapping every word in gentle glow.

Mood: Hopeful, nostalgic, serene

The story: A chapter of innocence and wonder — the scent of belief carried on winter’s breath.

Chapter II – The Gingerbread Thief

Sweet mischief by candlelight.

Crumbs on the windowsill. A dusting of spice in the air. Somewhere, laughter hides behind a curtain of nutmeg and vanilla. This is a tale of midnight mischief, where one bite disappears and the air smells of warm gingerbread and creamy eggnog.

Scent notes: Gingerbread • Creamy eggnog • Nutmeg • Vanilla

Mood: Playful, cozy, comforting

The story: A mischievous winter spirit caught in the act - a reminder that magic often comes with a grin (and a crumb trail).

Chapter III – Starling Song

The stillness of winter, captured in scent.

As frost dusts the branches, a single starling sings into the silence... a melody of silver birch and star anise woven through forest woods and gentle musk. The air hums softly, shimmering with calm.

Mood: Peaceful, reflective, ethereal

The story: A quiet interlude in the fables, the sound of snow, the scent of stillness, the hush before dawn.

Chapter IV – Gilded Kiss

A fleeting kiss beneath gilded mistletoe.

In a snow-dusted ballroom, candlelight glimmers across golden frames and laughter drifts like perfume. A stolen kiss, sweet with pear and freesia, laced with amber and elegant musk. A fragrance of opulence and romance.

Mood: Romantic, luxurious, golden

The story: A tale of timeless elegance. fleeting moments caught between candlelight and snow.

Chapter V – Midnight Stardust

Cool, crisp, and brimming with Christmas magic.

The clock strikes twelve; sleigh bells echo as snowflakes swirl like stars. Pine and berries shimmer in the cold air, with clove’s warmth and patchouli’s depth grounding the midnight sky.

Mood: Enchanting, festive, luminous

The story: The chapter where the world holds its breath and magic falls like stardust.

Chapter VI – Sugarplum Reverie

A dream wrapped in velvet and powdered snow.

Nutcrackers, ballet slippers, and soft music boxes. The world hums with sweetness as frosted sugar meets winter berries, and vanilla drapes the night in soft musk. A sugarplum dream that lingers like a lullaby.

Mood: Dreamy, comforting, nostalgic

The story: The fable’s final waltz.  A drifting, drowsy sweetness that sings winter to sleep.

Looking Ahead

Our Six Collection has been growing in momentum with every release, and it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. With each new chapter, we work hard to make our products more than just a candle purchase... we want them to be a sensory experience, something that stirs emotion and tells a story.

As Christmas creeps closer and we begin to see the end of our festive collections, our creative wheels are already turning for the next Six release. 🕯️✨
